Girls Swimming at the Bulldog Invitational
The Brown Deer/University School girls swimming and diving team placed seventh out of nine teams competing in the Bulldog Invitational Tournament at Cedarburg High School on Saturday, September 30th.
Ariana Sparapani, the head coach of the BD/USM team, commented on the meet, “We only had about half the team competing due to conflicts or sickness, but the eight that were there did a mighty fine job. Great swims came from Mira Giles-Pufahl, who dropped about 40 seconds in the 200 Freestyle, and Lizzie Borg, who had an awesome breaststroke leg in the Medley Relay.”
Giles-Pufahl finished 25th in the 200 yard Freestyle event with a final time of 2:40.47, down from 3:21.08, her time in the seeding race earlier in the meet.
Borg’s split time in the 200 yard Medley Relay was 49.10 seconds. She joined Giles-Pufahl, McKenna Frede, and Maggie Greenman to give BD/USM 14th place in the race with a total time of 2:38.56.
In the same race, BD/USM’s Emily Kolb, Manasi Simhan, Kalli Knoll, and Amanda Hoppe finished 6th. Their time in the event was 2:04.24.
Simhan, Kolb, Hoppe and Noll also finished 6th in the 200 yard Freestyle event. The quartet’s time in that race was 1:51.57.
Noll also took 6th place in the 50 yard Freestyle race. She finished with a time of 26.72 seconds.
Noll took 7th place in the 100 yard Butterfly. She completed that event with a time of 1:05.68.
